Off-Duty Police Officer Shoots Two Men in Road Rage Incident

Road rage can strike anyone at any time, but it's always especially dangerous when there are guns involved. That's exactly what happened during a face-off between four men and an off-duty Huntington Park cop off the 71 Freeway last night, according to City News Service.
The cop, whose name hasn't been released, and the driver of another car reportedly had an altercation on the freeway headed southbound. They then got off and pulled into a parking lot at the Shoppes at Chino Hills. There, the police officer got out of his car and four men got out of the other car, whereupon the police officer reports that he thought he saw weapons in their hands, so he shot them.
Two of the men were injured.
Curiously, in a statement issued to City News Service, the police officer who did the shooting is referred to as the "victim" and the two men who were shot as the "suspects" by Cindy Bachman, a representative of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department:
"The victim stopped and exited his vehicle, and four males exited the suspect vehicle...The four suspects moved toward the victim, and he saw two of the suspects with objects in their hands, and believed they had weapons...The victim armed himself and fired several shots from his weapon, striking two of the suspects...The injured suspects ran a short distance and collapsed.''
Both of the injured parties were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover.
