RENEE MONTAGNE, host:
Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.
The Southern California city of Perris, awash in foreclosed and abandoned homes, hasn't yet taken to painting the roses red but it is spraying the grass green. According to the city's Web page, the dye job is harmless to pets, lasts for months and if sprayed on correctly won't run.
