How Romantic: Newlyweds Detained After Taking A Stroll On The Empty 405
A newlywed couple ignored officials' warnings and took a stroll on the empty 405 freeway last night.
They ended up getting detained and cited by CHP Officers around 3:40 am near the Sunset Boulevard on-ramp, according to City News Service. It will be a night to remember for sure. (If you were the couple and you have some gauzy, soft-focus pictures of the stroll, pretty please send us a tip. This post needs a photo!)
The newlyweds weren't the only ones taking advantage of Carmageddon II. Four rollerbloaders were cited for trespassing just as they got off the southbound 405 offramp at Getty Center Drive, CNS reported. One other walker was cited as well.
Officials warn that taking a stroll along the empty 405 is a really bad idea, since there are big trucks doing work on the freeway, on- and off-ramps that aren't necessarily expecting pedestrians or rollerbladers.
