Supersize THIS: LA Marathoner Eating Only McDonald's for 30 Days Before Race
In what appears to be one of the less medically sound ideas of late, a Chicago man who's training for the LA Marathon is eating at least three McDonald's meals a day in the month leading up to the race, as part of an effort to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities. According to KNBC, Joe D'Amico is subsisting on all McDonald's, all the time, starting each morning with pancakes, OJ and an egg McMuffin. D'Amico is chronicling his experiences on his blog, where he details what he eats each day (for instance, 5 hotcakes for dinner), as well as his daily training, and his thoughts on the challenge he's put himself up to.
D'Amico has pledged to donate $1 per Facebook friend (up to $2,500) and is pushing to raise an additional $5,000 through the Ronald McDonald House Charities website. So far, reports KNBC, D'Amico has raised $1,700.
No one can deny that this is all for a good cause. Let's just hope that everyone's arteries survive the process.
