Man Turns Himself in After Fatal Hit-and-Run

A man turned himself into authorities on Friday after hitting and killing a pedestrian with his car in a reportedly DUI-influenced hit-and-run, reports City News Service.
The man, 21-year-old Ryan Mascioni of Redondo Beach, hit a woman whose name hasn't been released as she tried to cross Hawthorne Boulevard in the rain that night. Two other lanes of traffic had stopped for her, but as she got to the third lane, Mascioni plowed into her. He then hit two parked cars, and sped off.
CNS notes that paramedics tried to revive the woman, but she was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
Mascioni turned himself in about an hour after the crash.
Authorities are waiting to release her name until her relatives are notified.
