Man Shot and Killed by Police in Van Nuys Following Car Chase

A 22-year-old man was shot and killed by police last night in Van Nuys following a high speed chase, reports City News Service.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, was reportedly firing at officers first, after they tried to pull him over. He failed to stop, and police pursued him, ultimately using their car to make him crash. When he got out of the vehicle he was shot, and died at the scene.
The shooting happened at about 9:40 p.m. last night, at the intersection of Vanowen Street and Orion Avenue.
A female passenger in the car was hurt in the crash but not shot.
