Man Impaled By Fence After Jumping Off Parking Garage
A man impaled himself on a spiked wrought-iron fence after he jumped off a 4-story parking structure in Lincoln Heights.
Somehow the man managed to survive the jump and impaling, though he is listed in critical condition at a hospital, police told City News Service. Police had shooed the man out of the parking structure at 1143 Mission Road earlier this morning, but the man returned and jumped at 3:40 am.
Firefighters had to cut off part of the fence and take the portion that pierced his midsection, along with the man, to the hospital. The fencing was on top of a 6-foot wall.
The parking structure appears to be located next to the Los Angeles Coroner's Office and Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.
