Man Freed After Being Trapped in Car Under Big Rig

A man was trapped under a tractor-trailer today after the vehicle overturned and landed on the victim's car, reports City News Service. The man was pinned inside his car for an hour as workers attempted to free him.
The accident was reported at about 10:20 a.m. on the transition road between the eastbound 22 Freeway and the northbound 57 Freeway. It's not clear what caused the truck to flip, but it was positioned in a way that could have caused its removal to fall onto the freeway below, according to the news site.
After being freed, the man was taken to the hospital with survivable injuries.
