She was sentenced to 90 days, but thanks to overcrowding and good behavior rules, Lindsay Lohan may only serve 13 or 14 days, according to the LA Times. That means her projected release date August 1st or 2nd. Although she'll be put in a special needs unit because of her high-profile status -- her cell is next to Paris Hilton's former one, now occupied by Alexis Neiers who, uh, burglarized Lohan -- the chain smoker will not be able to smoke. No cell phone access will be offered either, meaning no Twittering, save for messages she passes on through family and friends to post. Earlier Today: Photos of Lohan going to Jail.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
