LA County sheriffs investigate officer-involved shooting in Altadena

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials are investigating after a deputy shot and killed a man in Altadena Friday night.
It started with a traffic stop on Lake Avenue at New York Drive. Officers say the passenger got out of the car and started to run away.
Deputy Aura Lidman says officers caught the man, and that’s when they say he pulled a gun. “During the fight, the suspect reached into his waistband and pulled out a handgun. The deputy, fearing for his life, shot one time, killing the suspect. The deputy was not injured and the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect gun was recovered at the scene.”
Sheriff’s officials say the man shot and killed was 33 years old and from Pomona.
