Cajon Pass fire: Lanes of I-15, Highway 138 reopen; containment at 45 percent

Update 8:30 a.m. Sunday: 138 reopens, Cleghorn Fire 45 percent contained
Crews continue to make progress on the twin brush fires that broke out Saturday night alongside Highway 138, shutting down portions of the road and backing up traffic along I-15.
The fire, now dubbed the Cleghorn Fire, was 45 percent contained Sunday morning, and officials say they've been able to reopen both lanes Highway 138, but drivers are asked to be cautious along the route, as fire engines and crews are deployed along the side of the shoulders of the road.
San Bernardino Fire officials say they expect full containment Sunday night.

Update 7:50 p.m.: Northbound lanes of I-15 reopen
The San Bernardino National Forest announced on Twitter that the two northbound lands of I-15, which had been closed due to the threat posed by two brushfires burning nearby, have been reopened.
Lanes of Highway 138 between I-15 to Summit Valley Road remain closed to traffic.

Two wildfires that broke out near the Cajon Pass have shut down the northbound stretch of Interstate 15 and Highway 138 Saturday night.

San Bernardino National Forest officials report Highway 138 is closed from I-15 to Summit Valley Road in Hesperia. I-15 northbound lanes are closed in area, and images taken from CalTrans' traffic monitor show a back-up along the highway.
San Bernardino National Forest officials tweeted that both were reported around 5:30 p.m. and have burned 100- 150 acres collectively.

The closures followed a crash that took place earlier in the day which shut down a northbound lanes of the I-15 near Baker, California.
