Kid Jumping On Bed Falls Out Window to His Death, Was Impaled By Glass
A Palmdale boy died yesterday evening after he fell through an open window while he was jumping on a bed with his sister. The 12-year-old middle schooler took a tumble out the first-story window of the family home, likely propelled by the momentum of his sister reaching for him to brace herself from falling off the side of the bed.
The child was impaled by a shard of glass during the fall. He was rushed to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
Authorities are labeling the fall "a freak accident," said the boy's father in an interview with CBS2. Though homicide investigators looked into what happened, they believe it was simply just a matter of kids playing around.
A similar accident happened last month in Marina Del Rey, when a 4-year-old fell to his death playing on a bunk bed.
