Following a blast near the Chabad House in Santa Monica on Thursday that turned out to be a deliberate attack, police have stepped up security at other Jewish institutions and synagogues around Los Angeles, reports the Daily News:
"We're making routine patrols four or five times during our watch (patrol)," said Los Angeles police Sgt. Richard Parks of the Pacific station, near Culver City. An officer at the LAPD West Los Angeles station said one of its units was assigned to monitor synagogues Saturday.
Police are searching for transient Ron Hirsch, a.k.a. Israel Fisher, who is the prime suspect in Thursday's attack.
