Heading to Texas for Austin City Limits? Party with Austinist.

Our June member drive is live: protect this resource!
Right now, we need your help during our short June member drive to keep the local news you read here every day going. This has been a challenging year, but with your help, we can get one step closer to closing our budget gap. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership.

On the eve of Austin's gargantuan music festival in Zilker Park, Austinist is hosting our second annual fall soiree, replete with bands, DJs, video projections, fire dancers, and more! For Local Music is Sexy 2, we've brought together some of our favorite bands who call this city home:

Emceed by KUT's Laurie Gallardo, Local Music is Sexy 2 will also feature two of Austin's hottest DJ collectives, Car Stereo (Wars) and Stay Gold, video projections by Super!Alright!, and fire dancers Kate and Ivy. Be sure to check out the wicked mashups by the CS(W) kids after the jump:

It's all happening on Thursday, September 14th, at The Mohawk -- that's 912 Red River, next door to Club de Ville, and a mere block north of Stubb's. And, like all Austinist events, it's completely free. We'll bring you more juicy details about the bands playing the party next week; for now, mark your calendars!
