Weekend Eats: Littlefork Launches Brunch, Sotto's Spring Cocktails, and a Food Truck Haven

The weekend is so close you can practically taste it. Here are the edible events going on in the next few days to keep you occupied -- and sated, for that matter.
Littlefork Launches Brunch: We loved the East-coast inspired fare at Jason Travi's Hollywood restaurant -- as well as the cocktails. They are launching their brunch service this Saturday, with items like hasty pudding with braised greens, poached egg, and hot sauce; a "good morning burger" with red corn pancakes, linguica sausage, runny egg, maple syrup; and Nutella-stuffed French toast with hazelnut, banana, and maple syrup. Those rockin' apple cider donuts will be on hand too, as well as some orange zest whoopie pies. And don't forget to order a drink. It's never too early for a bourbon bramble by Brian Butler and Dino Balocchi. For more info and reservations, visit their site.
Spring Cocktails at Sotto: Julian Cox and Nick Meyer just launched their springtime cocktail menu at Southern Italian Sotto this week. They're featuring new drinks, including a bottled amaro soda and two cocktails made with barrel aged gin: the Clover Club and the Daq in the Day. Pair that with one of their wood-fired pizza and some of their pork meatballs, and you're in business. You can visit their site for more details.
Food Truck Haven at Angel City Brewing: Starting this Saturday the 30, Downtown Los Angeles’s only craft brewery in the historic John A. Roebling Building will host Food Truck Haven, where gourmet road stoves will congregate to provide vittles for beer enthusiasts. Tomorrow's event will have White Rabbit Filipino Truck, Belly BombZ KBBQ Wings, George’s Greek Truck, Surfer’s Taco Truck, Crepes Bonaparte, Gobbles and Oinks, Grilled Cheese Truck, Jogasaki Burrito, Let’s Roll It, Postcards CAS, Tainamite, Get Shaved Ice Truck and Coolhaus. They'll be there noon to midnight. For more info, visit their Facebook page.
Easter Eats: Of course, we can't forget good ol' JC this weekend. If you're not going to be spending the holiday around the dinner table with loved ones -- or you're just looking for a someone else to do the cooking -- here's our list of the best Easter brunches around town. Enjoy!
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
