Vegan Eats: Animal-Free Candies for Halloween

We've talked a lot in the past week about sweets -- from the best Halloween treats to cocktail and candy pairings-- but one thing we've left out is the meatless crowd. Though many of us might not worry about animal-free foods, this is an interesting time of year for vegans. As the holidays approach, those who entertain are likely going to come across someone practicing the diet -- especially living here in liberal Los Angeles.
PETA released a list of vegan-friendly candies. While it might not seem that there's much to worry about, many candies are chock full of things like casein (made from curdled milk), gelatin (made from various animals' skin, depending on the type and brand), and stearic acid (made from pigs' intestines to stabilize chocolate), among others. There's a full list of ingredients to look out for in the aforementioned link, but to be safe, jus stick to this list of candies if you're concerned:
