It's official: The mobile location of Umami is hitting the streets tonight. Just this morning they announced via Twitter: "The UMAMI TRUCK will debut tonight at the Festivus downtown at 8. RSVP to festivusdowntown@gmail.com." We've had our eyes out for this roll-out since the popular gourmet burger eatery with a growing number of locations revealed last month they'd soon be taking their eats to the streets. You may have noticed not merely a surge, but rather a veritable explosion of this breed of food truck hitting the streets of late. Despite the drop in temperatures, people still line up outside office buildings during lunch hour or on a night out for a street fest or artwalk to get a taste of these trucks' fare. We've been keeping track as best as possible via our master list of Twittering Food Trucks, and have found more to add that seemed to have popped up in the past couple of weeks.

In fact, we've found 10 more to add to our list...

Now rolling:

They've got a variety of chefs from different culinary backgrounds bringing all sorts of flavors to their menu of "gourmet treats."

Grill 'Em All [Twitter]
"In a battle of cheese and sauce, finally burgers and heavy metal unite in harmony."

Louks To Go [Twitter] [Web]
"Original Greek Fast Food Truck."

Yum Yum Bowls [Twitter]
They seem to offer all manner of Asian dishes, although are prone to typos and what seems to be passing out as they type: "try our new dish tomorrow Thai Cow mein with choice of chicken, Beef or tofu... yummy... YumYumzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"

The Place L.A. [Twitter] [Web]
Pasadena-based (and centric) truck that has greasy fare like sandwiches, pastrami, burgers, carne asada fries, and so on.

The Sweets Truck [Twitter]
A mobile cafe & bakeshop rolling out this week.

1930s Philly Cheese [Twitter]
Cheesteaks and other sandwiches. They seem to stick to the Westwood area: "We are outside the Westwood Gateway on Pontius Ave every weekday 12-3ish. Cheesesteaks, pastrami, tuna, $6-8 for sandwich, fries and soda."

Not new, just another one of the many KogiBBQ "inspired" Korean-style taco trucks.

For our friends in the Santa Barbara area, for these guys a cheeseburger is "a work of art."

As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.

Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.

We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.

No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.

Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.

Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
