Start Slurping: It's National Noodle Day

Our June member drive is live: protect this resource!
Right now, we need your help during our short June member drive to keep the local news you read here every day going. This has been a challenging year, but with your help, we can get one step closer to closing our budget gap. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership.

It's early autumn, and a perfect day for bellying up to a big bowl--or plate--of noodles. And today is National Noodle Day.

Is ramen your scene? Bring an umbrella and hunker down to wait for a seat at Little Tokyo's Daikokuya to order up a shimmery bowl, or try the J. Gold's latest favorite, Ramen Jinya, and get to work on their calling-card chicken ball ramen (though we prefer their tonkotsu).

For Vietnamese flavor, there's the beloved soup dish, Pho, as well as a plethora of noodle-centric soups, salads, and dishes. There's Pad Thai, or Boat Noodles (try Sapp's if you're brave!) if you are craving noodles done Thai-style. Or you can noodle-up the Taiwanese, Singaporean, or Chinese way. How about some Soba? Or Udon? Glass noodels? Rice noodles? Thin or wide? Mix it up and go fusion (you can still make it to Starry Kitchen)! Defy the weather gods and have cold noodles. Any way you slurp it, having noodles today is, clearly, using your noodle.
