Reminder: Taste of The Nation is This Weekend

Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

Looking for a way to to up your culinary karma? This Sunday, June 10 from 1-4 p.m., Taste of the Nation LA will be going down, donating 100% of ticket sales to Los Angeles food banks in an attempt to end childhood hunger. Now, keep in mind that this year’s event is at a new location, the Lot in West Hollywood. Because this weekend is also Gay Pride, some some strategic driving is order. But you're an Angeleno; you can figure it out. (In case you can't, the TOTN folks have mapped it out for you.) And once you get to the event, it'll be well worth your while.

Over 40 of LA’s best restaurants, along with local wineries, mixologists, and craft breweries, are confirmed to participate, and there will be heaps of auction options to bid on, including a dinner at the California Science Center cooked by the Two Hot Tamales, and a girl-power themed meal prepared by local top female chefs Nyessha Arrington, Akasha Richmond, Nancy Silverton, and Suzanne Goin.

Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Taste of the Nation LA site; pre-paid parking is also available for $25.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
