Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, the Highland Park bakery of interminable lines and interminable tags on Instagram, opens its second Los Angeles location today on Larchmont Boulevard. Located in the former Village Footwear space, it joins the block of places to wait in line (I'm looking at you, Salt & Straw) ready to sling out cruffins and donuts to the heavily-trafficked neighborhood.

Outside of Los Angeles, Mr. Holmes Bakery has locations in San Francisco, Korea, and Orange County. It has developed a reputation as a delicious bakery that caters to the millennial aesthetic and destination-oriented mindset. The Larchmont location is significantly smaller than the Highland Park location—the Highland Park storefront also includes a large kitchen for wholesale operations and expansions—so it will likely be even busier than the storefront on Avenue 59. It will receive deliveries from the main kitchen three times a day, serving the same pastries available at the Highland Park location.

The bakery is most famous for its cruffin, a croissant-muffin hybrid filled with cream, and its experimental pastries like the "California Roll," a croissant stuffed with a smoked salmon sushi roll, wasabi, and ginger. The 25-year-old CEO Aaron Caddell, who originally decided to open Mr. Holmes Bakehouse after noticing the rise in creative coffee spaces. He wanted to bring a similar experience to a bakery, prioritizing the visual experience as well as the taste, according to Larchmont Buzz.

Mr. Holmes Bakehouse is located at 248 N. Larchmont Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90004. It's open every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
