If Taco Bell's Doritos Locos taco shell had your tastebuds making an instant run for the border, you might be among those already salivating for their next taco shell flavor innovation: The Cool Ranch Doritos taco shell. Well, get ready, because Taco Bell has assured us it's happening soon.

Confirmation of the coming of the Cool Ranch came via the CBS This Morning:

"Anything could happen in 2013," teased Taco Bell on their Facebook page January 2. Though initially chatter about Cool Ranch taco shells suggested we could be chowing down on them as soon as last summer, it appears the time is almost upon us finally this year.

But the fast food flavor fiesta won't stop at the Cool Ranch; "Taco Bell is also working on a Flamas shell — a chili-lime flavor," says Business Insider. Man, things sure are muy loco at the Orange County-based Taco Bell HQ. Rumor has it they have put the Cool Ranch and Flamas shells on the test market in Ohio and California, which is supported by this pic of a Cool Ranch shell spotted (and we assume consumed) in SoCal a couple of months ago.

UPDATE 3/6/13: Today is the day!
