Holy Manicotti!

Last night LAist caught a newsbite on TV about a man who believes the charred remnants of sauce on the dish of manicotti he ate at Studio City's Vitello's show the image of Christ, complete with the crown of thorns. Call us skeptics, but when he held up the plate to the camera we weren't convinced. We've eaten at Vitello's, and while it was indeed quite tasty, it was not exactly a religious experience. The folks at the restaurant, however, are flocking to the saucy savior, and are considering renaming the dish something like "Miracle Manicotti" and also adding a photo of the plate to their collection of celebrity visitors on the wall. This just seems to up the novelty/creepy factor we've come to associate with this valley eatery; remember Robert Blake? We can't find the story online, or a picture of the pasta in question, so we'll just have to keep our eyes out for more on this messianic morsel. Or check out Vitello's yourself!
