This past Sunday, hungry burger hounds descended on Dog Haus in Pasadena for the kick off of their Annual Cheeseburger Week and for their first ever slider-eating competition.

Though the mini burgs are a bit smaller than a double double, the idea of downing over 3 dozen of them in 6 minutes is nauseating to say the least. The sliders were made with caramelized onions, white American cheese, and mayo on a 100% natural Black Angus beef patty on a Kings Hawaiian roll.

Champion competitive eater Jamie "The Bear" McDonald took home the glorious prize of $1000 in Dog Haus credits, which is sort of unfortunate considering McDonald owns a barbecue in Connecticut, and flew all the way out to sunny SoCal to compete in the challenge.

No matter; Mc Donald is currently ranked number one Independent Competitive Eater by All Pro Eating and something tells me this guy won't be hungry for a while.
