This Sunday at 10:30 a.m., ForYourArt will be hosting a donut panel to run in tandem with their 24-hour pop-up donut city. The arts organization is working with LACMA to keep film enthusiasts fueled during Christian Marclay's screening of "The Clock," which will be showing across the street at the LACMA'S Bing Theater. Every 2 hours, a new set of donuts from L.A.'s best donut shops will be offered for free at the ForYourArt space, offering an edible exhibition of L.A.’s signature donuts.

During the last few hours of the screening, FYA will host a talk on L.A.'s rising donut culture, which seems to be overtaking the cupcake trend. On the panel will the Waylynn Lucas of Fonuts, Janeen Gudelj of the Donut Snob at the Crafted Port of Los Angeles, and Joshua Lurie of Food GPS. LAist Food Editor Krista Simmons (that's me!) will be moderating the discussion, covering topics from our city's donut history to decoration trends and the future of the donut scene. At the first pop-up that took place during Marclay's screening, over 2,500 donuts were served, and the organizers are planning for another large showing of donut enthusiasts.

Admission is free, and so are the donuts. See you there!

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
