CoolHaus and Golden Road Brewing Collaborate for Beer Pretzel Ice Cream Sandwich

This weekend marks the annual Spring Unique LA, and in addition to the recent annoucement that Sonja Rasula will be hosting a summer camp for adults this year, we've got some other exciting news: CoolHaus and Golden Road Brewing will be collaborating on a beer pretzel ice cream sandwich.
That all might sound a bit strange, but CoolHaus will be making a pretzel beer ice cream that plays on the elements of salty and sweet. They'll be making scoops with Golden Road Brewery's Russian Stout to make the ultimate beer/pretzel combo. (We're thankful they didn't try to work cheese into the mix somehow.)
In addition to the stout/pretzel action, they'll also be making a Berliner Weisse mandarin orange sorbet. Each sandwich costs $5. You can pick what kind of cookie you want to match with your ice cream, but the CoolHaus team recommends their double chocolate cookie with the Russian Stout and pretzel ice cream and our vegan ginger cookie with the Beliner Weisse mandarin sorbet.
They icy treats will be the perfect refreshment after shopping around the California Market Center for crafty wares this weekend. Unique LA is $10 at the door, with 10% of all ticket sales going to the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC). It'll be open from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.
But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.
Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
