We need to hear from you.
Today during our spring member drive, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

Devotees of organic and vegan cuisine will have a new temple at which to worship starting tomorrow, when the long-awaited San Francisco export Café Gratitude opens up its doors on Larchmont to welcome conscious eaters into their fold.

Café Gratitude's NorCal owners Matthew and Terces Engelhart have teamed up with Christopher and Lisa Bonbright to set up shop at Larchmont and Melrose to turn locals on to their lauded foodstuffs. On the menu will be cooked and raw dishes made using seasonal SoCal-sourced produce. It's not just food, though, that fills your being at CG, they're going to bring the "food for thought" stuff, too, with "a menu voiced in affirmations, the iconic 'question of the day,' and a stellar line up of tried and true entrees, appetizers, and desserts." (Be warned, though--our friends at SFist felt a little strange loving their food but being subjected to some pretty strange restaurant rituals.)

Among their loyalists at the SF location are some celebs, who are already spreading the gospel via the internet.
