Dear reader, we're asking you to help us keep local news available for all. Your tax-deductible financial support keeps our stories free to read, instead of hidden behind paywalls. We believe when reliable local reporting is widely available, the entire community benefits. Thank you for investing in your neighborhood.

We wish we could offer you 44 lines about 88-cent burgers, but there isn't much to say here. If you like cheap burgers sold for cheaper than usual, you may want to hie thee to your nearest (participating) Burger King, where their Whoppers are a mere 88 cents today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on this August 8th. We got the tip from the OC Weekly's Stick a Fork in It, who offer up a bit more info:

While details are sparse, expect buying limits (no purchases of 88 Whoppers will be allowed, we assume) and lines. There are also rumors of combo deals with a small fries and a small drink for $2.88. Because Burger Kings are all franchised, not all Burger Kings will be participating. Those that are will have signs.

"Chain reps says the 88-cent Whopper will be available at participating restaurants in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties," points out the OC Register, who add the following, important caveat: "(Valid while supplies last.)"
