On a scorcher like today, we're fantasizing about all sorts of international icey treats, including the cold bubble tea also known as boba. So when news came through of 626 Night Market's new mission to create the World’s Largest Cup of Boba Tea, we were jazzed. (And also suddenly very thirsty.)

The Market launched a 30-day Kickstarter campaign on Monday to raise $9,000 to manufacture the giant 6-foot-tall cup that'll hold the tea, which will be unveiled at the August 626 Night Market in Arcadia at the Santa Anita Park.

Instead of being made of pliable plastic like what you'll get at Lollicup, it'll be constructed of plexiglass and situated on a 2.5 feet high platform. The straw will extend the glass' height an additional 3.5 feet, making the drink a total of 12 feet tall, containing 320 gallons of tea.

The Night Market will be serving it's contents—over 2,500 cups of a standard 16 oz. boba drinks—on Saturday, August 3. The cup will only be on display on Sunday, August 4.
