A fire in a South L.A. furniture store destroyed nearly 70 percent of the business' inventory, reports NBC Los Angeles.

The store, C and L Furniture, is located at 6245 S. Manhattan Place. It took about 100 firefighters 45 minutes to get the flames out, and the building was ultimately declared a knockdown. One firefighter was taken to the hospital for minor burns.

The fire was spotted by the store's owner as he went into work this morning. It's not clear how the fire started, but officials are investigating.
