Woman Disappears After Argument With Her Valentine's Date
Police are looking for a young woman who mysteriously disappeared after celebrating Valentine's Day with a date at an Orange County club. Erica Alonso, a 27-year-old Laguna Hills woman, went missing after 4 a.m. on February 15, OC Weekly reports. She had first spent the night at Sutra Lunge in Costa Mesa with a date. Alonso's brother would later identify the date as a man with whom Alsono had an on-again, off-again relationship. At the club, the pair met another couple who said they'd give Alonso and her date, who had used a car service to get to the club, a ride back to the date's place in Irvine.
They all left Sutra Lounge together at 1:30 a.m. and drove to the date's apartment, located near Culver Drive and Deerfield Avenue, in the couple's red, Toyota Scion FRS. The couple stayed until about 3:45 a.m. when Alonso and her boyfriend began arguing. The couple left in their Scion, and Alonso left alone in her Honda Civic around 4 a.m.
That's the last time anyone has seen or heard from Alonso. When she missed work on Tuesday, her family notified the police. She has not been on social media, used her credit cards or her phone since she left her date's apartment. Her Honda Civic is also missing. Family members say it's uncommon for her to not be in touch with them.
Police were looking for the couple to ask them questions about what happened at the apartment. Authorities announced that the couple came forward and contacted them this morning.
Alonso is described as Hispanic, 27 years old, 5"3, 110 pounds with brown eyes and long brown hair. She was last seen driving a white, four-door 2014 Honda Civic EX, with a California license plate, #7FSS563.
