Will Ferrell's Halfcourt Shot Hits Cheerleader At Lakers Game (But It's A Stunt!)

Halftime shows at basketball games are way more entertaining when Will Ferrell shows up. The Anchorman actor surprised some basketball fans last night by gracing them with his presence during a Lakers versus Pelicans game in New Orleans for a movie shoot—and making a huge spectacle of himself.

During the halftime show, Ferrell hurled a basketball at a cheerleader's face on the court as part of a purposely failed half-court shot stunt as part of a shoot for his upcoming movie, Daddy's Home. Folks attending the game took videos and photos of how it all went down, including ones showing the cheerleader hitting the floor after getting pegged in the face. Good acting on both their parts because it made us gasp when we watched the Vine of it:

It doesn't stop there though. Fake security guards in yellow blazers rush out to apprehend Ferrell:

And then four guards literally carry him out as if he's a log they're using to smash open a door:

Here are some more photos of Ferrell being dragged out of the Smoothie King Center:

Ferrell has been shooting Daddy's Home with Mark Wahlberg in Louisiana since November, reported The Times-Picayune. The cheerleader was a stuntwoman, so don't worry, she's probably fine. As for Ferrell, he's playing a dad who's drunk at the game and embarrassing his family who are sitting courtside.

The movie follows Ferrell's character who's an executive trying to be a good father for his new wife's (Linda Cardellini) children, but has a hard time with their biological father (Wahlberg) in the picture.
