Snoop Dogg once made his career by asking listeners to tell him his own name. The appropriate response, at that time, was of course "Snoop Doggy Do-o-o-o-ggg."

But now, you'd be woefully out of touch were you to respond as such. Snoop has released a new reggae single, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, it's under a new name: Snoop Lion.

The single is called "La La La," a Major Lazar-produced track that's on Snoop's upcoming reggae album, "Reincarnated," to be released by the end of this year. No word on why Snoop decided to go from a domesticated household pet to the king of the jungle at this stage in his career, but no doubt the name of his album is intended as some sort of foreshadowing.
