Weezer And RHCP To Headline A Very '90s Weenie Roast
The lineup of KROQ-FM's 24th annual Weenie Roast was announced this morning and it looks to be a very '90s affair, with headliners including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer and Garbage.
But prospective teenage concertgoers unfamiliar with the indelible genius of Rivers Cuomo or the epic beauty of listening to By The Way on a Discman shouldn't fear—the lineup has plenty on tap for you too, including sets from Empire of the Sun, Panic! at the Disco, Cold War Kids, Fitz and the Tantrums and the Lumineers. The full lineup can be found on KROQ's website (or in the image above).
The 2016 Weenie Roast will be held on May 14, and tickets go on sale this Friday at noon.
This year's Weenie Roast will also serve as a swan song for the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater, which will be demolished in October. The O.C. venue has played host to 23 Weenie Roasts since 1993. The O.C. venue will be demolished in October. Proceeds from the sale of every ticket will benefit Surfrider Foundation and Heal The Bay.
