Contemporary TV Shows on DVD

"Community: The Complete First Season" - 25 episodes, plus plenty of extras including discussions with series creator Dan Harmon and the cast, a "Kickpuncher" comic book by Troy Barnes, and some very hilarious outtakes.

"Bored to Death: The Complete First Season" - Might seem a bit skimpy with only 8 episodes but the quality of each episode justifies the price. Not only does it include deleted scenes (which shed even more light on the character development), the extras provide a great tour of Brooklyn as experienced by series creator Jonathan Ames.

"Men of a Certain Age: The Complete First Season" - Deleted scenes, commentary from Ray Romano and co-creator Mike Royce, and a really great gag reel. Yes, Ray Romano can act and he does a great job in the first season of a show that people are just hearing about now.
