Your tax-deductible gift today powers our reporters and keeps us independent. We rely on you, our reader, not paywalls to stay funded because we believe important news and information should be freely accessible to all.

Whether your a bicycle advocate or a someone who hopes Los Angeles could be a smarter planned community, tomorrow's all day (and free) LA Bike Summit will hold a good number of workshops and panels including ones with local bloggers of note such as Damien Newton at Streetsblog LA and Siel at Green LA Girl.

For Newton, this is a really important step for the LA community. "People don't realize how many people travel on their bicycle. They think of bike riders as messengers, or Midnight Ridazz," he told LAist about the event. "However, we're a diverse community of literally hundreds of thousands of Angelenos. Tomorrow we'll have a change to meet and talk to each other so we can learn from each other and advocate together to get the L.A. we deserve."

The complimentary event is at the Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Washington Blvd. just south of downtown. You can register today, but walk-ins are welcome.
