Hollywood's 33 Taps Opens Today, Celebrates Football With 1/2 Off Brews

Normally we avoid Hollywood like the plague, but when it comes to game days we're willing to make an exception. Especially for a good sports bar. And there's hopes that the new 33 Taps, located on Hollywood and Vine, will deliver. They're certainly off to a good start; this weekend they'll be offering two-for-one brews in honor of the football season starting. (The deal starts today and runs through Sunday.)
The 205-seat sports bar and restaurant will have 40 HD TV’s broadcasting all professional and collegiate sporting events. In addition to the variety of domestic and international brews on tap $4 to $6, they'll pour a $3 option daily. Not bad for Hollywood.
They'll also serve up beer cocktails like Micheladas, Boilermakers and Porchcrawlers, and shot-and-beer combos. There's talk of champagne cocktails and a full liquor bar too, but get off it. It's game day. Grab a brew and get over that highfalutin nonsense.
It's what you'll want to be drinking with their elevated pub grub, anyways. Beer-Baked Mac N’ Cheese with amber ale and a blend of four cheeses (Parmesan, blue, cheddar and Brie) or the 666 Diablo Wings tossed in a fiery habanero sauce are just a few of the options on the menu. There are a few vego dishes too. (This is Hollywood, after all.) Think margherita flatbread topped with basil, tomatoes and mozzarella or Penne Pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and wilted spinach.
Game on.
33 Taps is located at 6263 Hollywood Blvd., and is open daily from 11:30 a.m. - 2 a.m.
At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.
But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
