Russell Brand Told Katy Perry He Wanted A Divorce Via Text
Sometimes it's hard to know what to make of Russell Brand. One minute he's schooling ignorant newscasters on how not to be assholes to their guests, and the next minute, he's telling Katy Perry that he wants to divorce her via text message. Yes, all of these conflicting news reports came out today, but we're going to focus on the latter. In an interview with Vogue, Perry revealed the following:
“He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him...Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”
So! That happened. It's not easy to imagine how far the communication has deteriorated in a marriage if the divorce news comes not in person, not even over the phone, but by way of text, so we can only assume that after 14 months of wedded bliss, things had gotten pretty bad.
Anyway, fortunately Perry was able to move right on from Brand with John Mayer, who, she tells Vogue, she is "still madly in love with."
It's a tangled web...
