Redditor Accuses Sammy Hagar's Daughter Of Stiffing Cabo Wabo Server And Leaving Angry Note [UPDATED]
Looks like we could have a new addition to the "entitled offspring of 80's rock stars" department.
Last night, a redditor posted this mean-spirited check, claiming that the writer is Kama Hagar. Kama's father, former Van Halener Sammy Hagar, also owns the Cabo Wabo chain.
The redditor, using the handle "throwawayCoboWobo," offered a little background on incident:
BACK STORY: This popped up on my FB feed. My friend, whom I know to be extremely nice & down to earth, explained that they were apologetic the entire time to Kama Hagar, not even knowing she was Sammy's daughter. The restaurant/bar is in Hollywood. So, you can imagine how hectic it is right after Christmas on a Sunday night. When Kama paid, she asked for the changed back (50 cents), gave no tip, and left this note on the receipt. A real class act.
A call sent out to Cabo Wabo was not immediately returned.
UPDATE 6:43 p.m.: We've received a note from Hannah Kampf, who identifies her self as Hagar's publicist, saying the story fake and says Hagar wasn't even in Los Angeles: "Sammy Hagar's teenage daughter, Kama Hagar, is celebrating the holidays with her family at their home in Hawaii. They've been there for more than a week so I can 100% confirm that she wasn't dining at the Cabo Wabo in LA yesterday."
UPDATE 11:50 A.M.: An employee who works at Cabo Wabo told LAist that the server who originally posted the receipt does work at the restaurant. An email sent to Kama Hagar asking her to confirm the validity of the check has yet to be returned.
Meanwhile, the server who originally posted the receipt offered this explanation on her Facebook page [ed. note: her post was deleted, so here's a screenshot]:
Your dick belongs in your pants not your personality! Some of you may know that I work at a tourist bar called Cabo Wabo owned by Sammy Hagar, tonight an attractive young women came in and I gave her excellent service to spite the long wait times for food I apologized several times and did my best to help with the wait but when it came time for the tap not only did she not tip me and asked me for change for the extra 50 cents left over but added this nasty little note. It was Sammy Hagar's daughter. It just gose to show that money can't buy you manners or the ability to spell "you're"
