ART
Wallspace Gallery and EM & Co present Double Fantasy: Preface, an exhibit of the work of Hilary Bond. The artist’s muse for the last four years has been model Kate Moss, representing the consumer culture that she was exposed to during her childhood of the 90s. So expect works that are Kate Moss-centric. There’s a reception tonight from 7-10 at EM & Co. (RSVP recommended) Double Fantasy: Preface is up until March 23.

BOOKS
Tonight author Robert Elder reads from and signs copies of The Film that Changed My Life at Book Soup. The book is a series of interviews with Hollywood’s most recognizable directors and finds out how each of them became hooked on filmmaking. Elder interviewed both veterans like Danny Boyle and Pete Docter to relative newcomers like Austin Chick and Brian Herzlinger. 7 pm.

WORLD MUSIC+ART
In conjunction with LACMA’s art exhibition India’s Fabled City: The Art of Courtly Lucknow, tabla master Swapan Chaudhuri and guests take to the Bing Theater stage tonight with a multimedia concert, lecture and presentation that examines how the city of Lucknow’s artistic atmosphere contributed to the evolution of the tabla, north India’s most famous percussion instrument. 7:30 pm. Tickets: $25 general admission, $18 for LACMA members and 62+ and students with ID: $5.

BOOKS

Hello, Cleveland! The Cleveland Confidential Book Tour makes a stop at Vacation Vinyl on Sunset Blvd. tonight. The tour features three author-musicians hailing from —where else?—Cleveland, Ohio including Cheetah Chrome (Rocket From The Tombs, Dead Boys, Batusis), Mike Hudson (The Pagans) and Bob Pfeifer (Human Switchboard, Tabby Chinos and President of Hollywood Records). They’ll read excerpts from their books (A Dead Boy's Tale From The Front Lines Of Punk Rock, Jetsam and Diary of a Punk, University of Strangers, respectively) and answer questions from the audience. 7 pm.
