Patrick Swayze's G-String, DeLorean, BBQ Smoker Are Up For Bid In This Crazy Auction
We've come across our share of auctions in the past, but this one might take the cake as being the most thorough account of a celebrity's life.
On April 28, Julien's Auctions will be auctioning off items from the estate of Patrick Swayze, the late (and great) actor who has featured in cultural touchstones such as Dirty Dancing and Ghost.
If you're a fan of the Swayze canon, you'll be glad to know that there's a ton of curio from his most popular movies. There's his leather jacket from Dirty Dancing, the wetsuit he donned in Point Break, a pair of sweatpants he wore in Road House, even a set of G-string underwear he'd strapped on for Keeping Mum, the forgotten 2005 comedy starring Mr. Bean and Maggie Smith.
It's the personal items, however, that might be of utmost intrigue. It turns out that Swayze had a certain fondness of all things old and western. He's got vintage lanterns, toere drums, and horse saddles. What's even more inexplicable are the DeLorean, the keytars, and a pair of leather chaps that Swayze wore for this steamy photo shoot .
Auctions tend to be a reflection of the celebrity we already know. This one, however, brings a different dimension to Swayze. If you had no idea that he was a collector of vintage goods, and that he was an avid roller skater, now you do. Talk about a multi-faceted guy.
The auction will take place at 2 p.m. PDT on April 28. You can find more information here .
