Kate Upton Cancels, But Lucky Teen Still Takes Supermodel To His Prom
It never hurts to ask: A local teen got "the night of my dreams" when he asked a supermodel to his prom. His first pick, Kate Upton, was busy but another Sports Illustrated model happily stepped in.It all started when seventeen-year-old Jake Davidson, a student at Milken Community High School in Bel-Air, put together a YouTube video asking Upton to his prom. The video, in which he says, “Hey, you’re on the cover of Sports Illustrated … I read Sports Illustrated” got more than 2 million hits.
Upton was originally going to take him up on his offer, CBS News reports, but she had to drop out after a scheduling conflict.
Instead, another SI beauty, Danish model Nina Agdal, became Davidon's date, which of course, became a media event. Inside Edition took Agdal dress shopping and accompanied the pair to the prom, which was held at the the Annenberg Community Beach House on the PCH. Davidson told SwimDaily, "I would venture to say that a few heads turned when I walked in with Nina on my arm."
They didn't party too late, however: Davidson had an 11 p.m. curfew.
The high schooler raved about the experience to SwimDaily, saying, "It would be quite the understatement to call [Nina] a consolation prize. In fact I have to reorganize my list based on experience, with Nina taking spots 1-100."
Asked by SwimDaily which supermodel he'd like to ask out next, Davidson replied, "I would never have expected this date, so I can only hope my lucky streak continues. I think as a 17-year-old boy, I would love to go on a date with any model, so I am really not picky! It would be great if they were as cool and fun as Nina."
Was it the best night of his life? "It was a pretty incredible night and I enjoyed it a lot, but I don’t think it was the high point of my life," said the kid. It is certainly up there though! ... Nina Agdal is the perfect date!"
They both tweeted about their evening with Davidson calling it "the night of my dreams" and Agdal saying, “Had such a great prom night. Thanks Jake Davidson. You were an awesome date.”
