Knit and Purl Your Way Through L.A. at Yarn Crawl, 4/12 - 4/15

Locals with an affinity for knitting are finally being given their due: L.A.'s first annual Yarn Crawl is happening from Thursday, April 12 - Sunday, April 15.
For those four days, stores selling yarn, needles and the like will open their doors to knitting aficionados throughout the south land. People taking part in the event, which is essentially a self-guided tour of shops, can buy a passport at Yarn Crawl's website that gets stamped at each store they visit, making them eligible for certain prizes and entitling them to special offers from participating stores.
But don't start counting your spoils just yet, ye of little patience. The yarn-shilling businesses involved in the event are as far north as Santa Clarita and as far south as Westminster. That means that in order to really get to all of them, you're looking at several days of driving around L.A. County.
Which isn't to say you shouldn't go for it. Just make sure you really, really like knitting.
Yarn Crawls have been held in other areas across the country for years, including Boston, Chicago and Texas' Hill Country.
