It's Finally Over: Kim Kardashian Is Divorced

It's a rare day that anything associated with a Kardashian gets called sensible, but that's exactly what happened today when Kim Kardashian's divorce was finalized.

According to People magazine, Kardashian and her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries, reached a settlement agreement. In response, Judge Hank M. Goldberg told the court:

"As a result of this agreement, we will not have a trial in this case...I want to congratulate the attorneys on both sides. This is a sensible way to resolve this case."

The divorce case has been dragging on for about a year and a half, since the former couple's ill-fated wedding in August of 2011 was determined to have been a bad idea. In court today, People adds that Kardashian was asked whether her marriage could be saved by counseling. She responded, "No, your honor."

Humphries wasn't present in court; he was represented by his attorney.

TMZ reports that Kris will not get anything from Kim, although he had been asking for $7 million. Each party will pay their own lawyer's fees.

The gossip site also notes that Kim did Kris a solid today -- he was going to be fined for not appearing in court at a hearing last week, but Kim asked that that issue be dropped. The judge agreed.
