Kanye West Has Twitter Meltdown Over Jimmy Kimmel Spoof Video—'I DON'T TAKE IT AS A JOKE'

Just after 5 p.m., Kanye West started to Tweet his apparent unhappiness with Jimmy Kimmel. The mercurial rapper-fashion designer had recently proclaimed himself the "#1 rock star on the planet" during a BBC 1 radio interview, which inspired Kimmel to create a spoof. Here's the video and then West's Tweets (warning—some graphic language is used!):
Kimmel responded:
apparently @KanyeWest is VERY VERY ANGRY with me....
— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) September 27, 2013
if it's not too much trouble @kanyewest, would you mind using @jimmykimmel ? Thanks

— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) September 27, 2013

— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) September 27, 2013
I'll tell you the whole story about @kanyewest tonight on the show - this is not a prank, I promise (unless it's being played on me)
— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) September 27, 2013
Kimmel also retweeted the "No Good Pussy" Tweet. Then he recalled a spoof he did about West with a few years ago:
. @joshgroban @kanyewest you've done enough already http://t.co/dYSJFJACAW
— Jimmy Kimmel (@jimmykimmel) September 27, 2013
And Kanye look so happy a few days ago with Kim Kardashian, Oprah and P.Diddy!
UPDATE: Here's Kimmel's monologue about the fight. All the late show host knows is that Kanye didn't like the spoof.
At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.
But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
