Cinefamily Hosts All-Day 'X-Files' Marathon, Including Sneak Peek Of New Series

Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

The Truth is out there, and also at Cinefamily later this month. On Saturday, Jan. 16, Cinefamily will be the site of an all-day marathon of The X-Files, hosted by Silicon Valley star Kumail Nanjiani. Aside from having a role in the upcoming revival of the series, Nanjiani is also the host of "The X-Files Files" podcast, and will be recording a live episode at the theater. "This is going to be the greatest day of my life," says the actor.

While it might be too late to binge-watch all 202 episodes (and don't forget the two movies) to catch up before the new series premieres on the 24th, Nanjiani will be screening some of his favorites and caps it all off with a sneak peek of the the first new episode. While Cinefamily doesn't list the episodes that will be shown, Birth.Movies.Death says they "are not obvious ones, and any X-Phile will be intrigued by his choices."

There will also be special appearances by X-Files cast- and crew-members, with confirmed appearances from series creator Chris Carter, Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish, Annet Mahendru, Rhys Darby and the Cigarette Smoking Man himself, William B. Davis. We'd expect at least one unannounced guest to show up. What's an X-Files event without a little mystery?

Seating is first-come, first-serve, and Cinefamily wants you to RSVP, although registration does not guarantee a seat.
