Hotel Figueroa Is Selling Its Moroccan Decor In Massive Sale

Downtown Los Angeles' historic Hotel Figueroa is selling off almost all of its vintage Moroccan decor before a major renovation next year and some of it could be yours starting this week. The nearly century-old iconic hotel hosted a grand farewell party just last month, and now the owners, Green Oak and Urban Lifestyle, are hosting a massive liquidation sale to clear out practically every piece of furniture, fixture, artwork, and architectural design element, reports Downtown News. The sale—which begins this Thursday and goes through December 31—is the first major step in transforming the distinctive Moroccan style of the 1926 hotel back to its original Spanish Mediterranean design. So, if you're fond of the Moroccan look or planning to give your home a sweet makeover for the new year, you'd better head downtown to snatch up some cool items before they're gone.
The huge sale will take place on three floors of the hotel, where you can shop for everything from ornate, wooden tables, benches and bedframes, to antiquelighting fixtures, bar equipment and even patio furniture from the beloved Veranda poolside lounge. They're even selling mechanical equipment, in case, you know, you're starting your own hotel or something.
You can shop between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday with cash, Visa or Mastercard. A photo ID is required for all sales. Browse through all of the cool stuff for sale in the catalog here, so you know what you want to pick up ahead of time. And here's a video for the sale if you want to take a quick spin through some of the pieces that are up for grabs:
The liquidation sale is being conducted by International Content Liquidators, who also helped clear out the old Wilshire Grand a few years ago.
Renovation of the 285-room Hotel Figueroa will continue through summer 2016 and the hotel will be managed by HHM Hospitality, which runs over 100 hotels nationwide.

Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.

We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
