Video: Grumpy Cat Visits Disneyland And Faces Off With Grumpy The Dwarf

Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

You can't blame Grumpy Cat for looking dour even at the happiest place on earth. The viral Internet feline visited Disneyland and toured the theme park—of course, begrudgingly, in this video clip. He She was not impressed.

Grumpy Cat, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, joined 24 social media supernovas handpicked by Disney as part of the company's new marketing campaign, "Disney Side." Famous Internet folks (including Ridiculously Photogenic Guy and Vine animator Ian Padgham) contributed their own videos to promote the Magic Kingdom. Altogether, the stars have more than a following of 30 million online and have hit approximately 2 billion views, according to Los Angeles Times.

However, there might be more to Grumpy Cat's bitter demeanor than just a grouchy face, as Gothamist questioned in March just how humane it is to put these popular Internet pet stars on publicity tours when the kitty was on display at SXSW this year.

One thing we can be sure of: Grumpy Cat is not pleased.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
