FYF Fest just announced its 2016 lineup, with headliners including Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Grace Jones, Tame Impala and Air. This year's FYF Fest goes down at Exposition Park on August 27 & 28, and features a solid lineup of top current artists and older favorites. Saturday's headliners are rapper Kendrick Lamar, and Australian rock act Tame Impala. Sunday's headliners are the not-that-broken-up LCD System and Grace Jones, in her only fest appearance this year. Grimes will also return to FYF Fest, and we'll get sets from Beach House, Anohni, Hot Chip, Father John Misty, Blood Orange, Saves the Day, Shellac and Explosions in the Sky, as well as a DJ set from L.A. vegan restauranteur Moby. One exciting act to note is Air. The French band's appearance at FYF will be their first U.S. performance in five years.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our nonprofit newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our communities. We are free to follow facts wherever they lead and to hold power to account without fear or favor.
