Morrissey And Frank Ocean Headline This Year's FYF Fest
FYF Fest announced this year's lineup with a pair of L.A. queer pop icons headlining—Frank Ocean and Morrissey.Rounding out the lineup for the festival, which will be held the weekend of August 22 and 23, includes indie stalwarts of the past and present: Jesus & Mary Chain, Belle & Sebastian, fka Twigs, Bloc Party, Run The Jewels, Mac DeMarco, The Purity Ring, Deerhunter, Savages, Solange, Toro y Moi, METZ, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra (among many others). Perhaps the most exciting name on the line up is soul singer D'Angelo—backed by his new band, The Vanguard—who continues his triumphant comeback after over a decade of being lost in the wilderness.
Even though Morrissey closes out FYF Fest this year, we doubt festival organizers will be forced to go all-vegetarian for the food offerings. Unfortunately, the weekend festival will be held at the same place as last year, the L.A. Sports Arena and Exposition Park, which saw the lines of the apocalypse. But hey, once you got in it was pretty cool!
Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 8 at noon, with single-day passes going for $109, a weekend pass for $175, and $329 for VIP tickets.
