It's that special time of year again where we can get our culture on without having to pay a dime. Several museums around SoCal will be offering free admission on Jan. 31, and a couple on Feb. 1 as part of the 10th annual "Museums Free-For-All" event.

Some of the big ones on the list include LACMA and MOCA, and there are a bevy of different types of museums focused on different topics from art to science and natural history. While you can get free general admission, keep in mind that special-ticketed events and parking aren't free.

Here's a list of all the museums offering free admission on Saturday, Jan. 31. For the ones that are closed on Saturdays, there's a note next to them that mention that they're giving free admission on Sunday, Feb. 1 instead:

If anything, we hope your museum experience is just as magical as the one these guys had in 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off:

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
